Jailbreak 4.0 Firmware using Spirit2Pwn! [Tutorial]

I have seen many people out there that are looking for a way to update from 3.1.3 jailbroken to iOS 4 jailbroken and there are tools out there that jailbreak them but there is an exception to that and that is if you jailbroke your 3.1.3 using Spirit, you will not be able to restore your 4.0 custom firmware that was made either by Sn0wbreeze or Pwnage tool because Spirit does NOT pwn your device's iBoot and kernels... so i decided to write this tutorial on how to fix this and to have the ability to restore from 3.1.3 to 4.0 jailbroken firmware without any errors!


Supported Devices:

-- iPhone 3GS (Old Boot rom)


Requirements:


1) An iPhone 3GS that is jailbroken on 3.1.3 and has to be one of the above supported devices
2) A USB Cable
3) A Computer (Mac or Pc)


Lets Start . . .


***Before you start this, make sure you have created a CUSTOM firmware using Pwnage tool or Sn0wBreeze so that you could use it to restore your Device****


First: Open Cydia and add this source >>> http://repo.woowiz.net


Second: Go to search in Cydia and search for >>> Spirit2Pwn and Install it!
**Do Not Forget This Step!! It Is The Most Important Step In This Procedure!**

Third: Put your Device into RECOVERY MODE (Turn Device off, then hold home button while connecting it to your computer until you see a connect to itunes logo)

Fourth: When iTunes pop up...HOLD Shift+Restore or Option+Restore and select the CUSTOM firmware that was created in Pwnage tool or Sn0wbreeze!

Fifth: When iTunes finish restoring go to your device and make sure there is an Internet connection THEN Open Cydia and let it load and update anything that needs to be updated!

Thats it for Jailbreakers ONLY!

(To Unlock) Go To Cydia & Add This Source >>> Repo666.ultrasn0w.com <<< and tap add source, then install Ultrasn0w and you'll be Unlocked!!

Procedure is done but please consider the following....

Please do not keep bugging the Dev-team or iH8Sn0w for new jailbreaks or to speed up in making them!! Im 100% sure they are doing the best they can to provide you the best tools to use!!

Warning: Please Do NOT Update any further than 4.0!! Especially Unlockers!!

    Thank You! One of the easiest jailbreaks unlock tutorials. I spent my whole 4th of July weekend looking for something like this.

    3gs 3.1.2 bought virgin, jail broke and unlocked with blackra1n,upgraded to Apple stock 3.1.3 no jail break or unlock for months until spirit came along, upgraded to stock 4.0, undid my jailbreak and unlock once again,(why cant i learn?) downgraded to 3.1.3 one again but with a constant barrage of error messages (used tiny umbrella to kick me out of recovery) and here i am again a free bird

    Thanks for the clear tutorial, it DOES work for my iphone 3gs 16gb black already jailbroken and unlocked on 3.1.3 with spirit. Now i am unlocked and jailbroken on 4.0 and i used sn0wbreeze for windows.
